Bull penis . . . boiled peanuts. I wouldn't touch either one. Blech!

We have a local "calf fry" festival around here. I've never had the you-know-whats to try them, though!

:)

Welcome to the south, land of the bull penis.

Undercover Mutha

Just be glad it wasn't pickled bull penis...and that she didn't whip out a jar from her back seat for you to sample.

So are boiled peanuts also a delicacy? Do they boil them and then dry them out? Or are they served as a mush? And is it weird that I'm more intrigued by boiled peanuts than bull penis? But then, I'm from the land of Rocky Mountain Oysters, so that's old hat to me.

Rena

MMMMMM...Boiled peanuts. Woowee! That's some good stuff. And for the one person asking, no they are not dried out after boiling. They are boiled still in their shell and served wet (and preferrably still hot) you just shell them and pull out the peanut that is now very soft and oh so salty.

William

You know if you mess with the bull...you are going to get the penis.

I've never heard of eating animal penises before as delicacies, but certainly bull and sheep balls. Unfortunately, I have had both. I was only 10 at the time and didn't think much of it. Not sure if I'd eat it again. But I don't remember it as being particularly nasty in any way.
Boiled peanuts? Now that, I'm not too sure about. How was it?

Hmmmmm...they sound deeeeelicciiiooouuusss. *said in Cartman voice*
