I can do this. I can!
Mom's gone and mister mrtl is working on weekends for the time being. I'm at home with the girls like a real SAHM. Jem's schedule has ::knock on wood:: cooperated so far with Bug's; she slept through meals yesterday and breakfast today. I actually got in an hour nap yesterday when the planets aligned just so, and the girls' laundry got folded, too (stayed up too late getting that done, but still, yay me!).
I am happy to announce that I've only had the urge to throw Jem out the window twice now. [Don't call CPS on me, folks, I speak figuratively.] It's not her fault that she's sick. It's not her fault that she keeps puking/spitting up, requiring multiple nightly changes (her and me) and warm washcloths for wipedowns. It's not her fault that coughing makes her poop, requiring a diaper change (or three) during those overnight feedings. It's not her fault that I SUCK at burping, leading to crankiness and some of those spit ups. Still, I have my limits, and when a 30- to 45-minute feeding and diaper change turns into a 2 1/2-hour festival of diapering, crying, snorking boogers, more crying, puking and changing, feeding, more crying, burping (yay!), more feeding, more diapering, more snorking, and puking and changing... well, it's enough to drive anyone over the edge.
Timing is everything. Jem awakens. Duty calls by way of angry kitty.

back - typing one-handed - gtg - puke - jem was nursing

Back again. I wanted to be sure to give a shout out to my man, mister mrtl, who makes this that much easier when he comes home and makes a wonderful dinner and otherwise takes such good care of his women. ::smooch::

I'd do just about anything to not get puked on...

Three times this morning now. You know, I took a Motrin today thinking it would help. Now I'm thinking I had it wrong, that the Motrin is causing the issues. No more of that to see what happens.

Hang in there. Sickness will pass, and when Jem gets not even very much bigger, Bug will be a fantastic baby entertainer :)

you're doing great. and you're so blessed(!) to have such a loving, caring hubby. "this, too, shall pass." doesn't help too much right now, but it will pass. ::hugs::

Oh crap. That sounds challenging. I hope things settle down (in tummys) very soon.

You're scaring me.
I hope Jem gets over this bug soon. Being puked on is just no fun.

That post had my head spinning. You could
mooonlight in the circus as a juggler.
Not that you don't have enough to do-I notice
you at Deb's. Which is a "miracle" in light
of all you have on your hands. Maybe just
maybe baby "JEM" has some miracle power-
she brings to Debs when she is with you.
PS: Way to go MR. MRTL for being a good PAPA.

I remember this, this getting used to having two kids so young and so needy.
Now mine are 9 and nearly-6 and life.is.good. Not bragging; giving you something to look forward to in those long puking/burping/feeding/changing hours.
You CAN do this!

Hang in there. You are strong! I hope Jem feels better soon, though, for all of your sakes.
(Again, my daily mommy blog birth control comes by way of mrtland!)

Go, mrtls!
I wish I lived close enough to come over and fix you lunch or dinner, hold the baby, do the dishes and laundry - whatever you needed.
