Doing some random blog surfing today, I came across the following:
childhood dog's name + childhood street name = porn name
I had to snicker a bit thinking of what my brother's is. Suffice to say that mine wasn't as compelling. "Sparky Boner's Sister" doesn't have that special oomph.
Cough it up, peeps. What's yours?
----
Update: I'm laughing a bit now. I was confusing "childhood street name" with "childhood nickname." Watched too much of "The Wire," I suppose.
Mister mrtl had told me he's heard a variation of this activity:
childhood pet name + childhood street name = porn name
(He actually said "street you lived on," which brought the "aha!" moment for me. Duh!) Since we only had one dog ever, but plenty of cats, a couple fish and even some turtles, this gives me much more to work with. Besides, it was hard for anyone to come up with a teasing nickname for me since nothing works with my first name... which lasted until I met mister mrtl's old roommate, who called me "The Cathetar."
Anyhoo, with this new confirguration and my enlightenment, I can now reintroduce myself to you as:
Muffin Station

Suzette King. I've always rather liked that one. But I'll bet no one will ever, ever beat Sparky Boner.

Your childhood street was "boner?" Good lord!
How about Princess Island?
Posted by: Hänni | 2005.10.16 at 06:19 AM
Sasha Pinecrest. I don't think it's too bad, but Cheryl's right--it's no Sparky Boner.
So did you and your brother grow up on different streets? Or perhaps each of you had your own pet . . .

Candy Frazier, here. Married to Laddie Fair Oak (that must be gay porn, right there).

sounds like a dorky best friend from an 80's sitcom.
maybe I should mix it up a bit? Bloom palfield? Oh, how about LAP Bloomfield.
meh

I don't think anybody will have as crappy a result as me -- Sneakers Highway # 1.

Suzette - Maybe we need to change it to Sparky Granite, but I think Sparky Boner is a perfect porn name.
Princess - And here I thought you had misunderstood. lol No - we never lived on Boner street. It's a nickname that rhymed with my maiden name.
Sasha - Was I the only one with my mind in the ghetto on this?? pshaw!
Candy - Candy and Laddie sound like quite a hot pair.
Prince - Do you think we'll all be rethinking pet names now?
hehe - We lived on Briargrove in Texas.
Pal - Yeah - Someone didn't think this all the way through. (Like I'm one to judge. Should I start redirecting your attention to that post where I showed my political density?
Susie - I'll pass that along for you. Thanks!

Sneakers - Ah - levity. That's too funny!
Posted by: mrtl | 2005.10.16 at 06:17 PM
Muffin Station?! Bwahahahaha!! That sounds like a really bad Boy Band...
Hope Bug is partying her little Pull-Up off!! You only turn 2 once -- celebrate it!!

WTF?
Posted by: Ern | 2005.10.16 at 10:17 PM

Doobie - Thanks!
Dolly - Braintree?

delurking to introduce myself as...Pepper Lancashire - married to Woo 59th
hmmm
Posted by: pea | 2005.10.16 at 11:32 PM
Um, I lived on a rural route. (Redneck Valley, remember?) So I guess that makes mine Misty Rural Route Four. Bente, I'd say that's as bad as yours!
Posted by: kalki | 2005.10.17 at 07:23 AM
Mickey Cleveland here...which really sounds more like a gumshoe from an old 40s detective movie than a porn star...hmm, maybe a porn about a 40s detective????
Posted by: jana | 2005.10.17 at 08:05 AM
Mine's pretty similar to kalki's: Missy 14th Street. I'll never break into the porn business with a name like that.
Posted by: LadyBug | 2005.10.17 at 10:15 AM
I call myself Love... Muffin Love.
Hee. I know, right?!
Hey! Check out us and our matching childhood pet names! Woo!
Posted by: cat | 2005.10.17 at 11:23 AM
Miss Contrary South 133rd.
I wonder what kind of porn star I would have been if I had the same behavior (in a porn movie) as I did when I was a kid. When photographers would say "Smile!" I would spit at them.
ahem.
Posted by: sheryl | 2005.10.17 at 11:36 AM
How about "Madison McKensie"
Posted by: Annejelynn | 2005.10.17 at 12:20 PM
Braintree? what kind of street name is Braintree???
Posted by: Annejelynn | 2005.10.17 at 12:20 PM
I think Muffin Station would be more of a girl band name than a boy band name...You know, because of the MUFFin part.
Signed,
Sandy Ashford

Ooooooooh... "Muffin Love"! Well, mrtl, I guess I'm a lesbian porn star. Who woulda thunk it?
Posted by: cat | 2005.10.17 at 12:39 PM
That is too funny. I can almost imagine the porn story. The female cop arrests the man saying, "Sir! You're coming with me to the Muffin Station!"
Erm! Maybe I shouldn't imagine so much.
My name is Chi Chi Pendrell.

Snowball Michigan here checking in. So like you don't just get a pole, Muffin gets a whole station to work it? Bwhahahaha

Hope Bug had a grand birthday!
Cricket Norway . . . :)
Posted by: Nina | 2005.10.17 at 06:54 PM
this is just too funny!
i could be claudette horton or thai ling high, the former sounding more like a writer of really bad romance novels and the latter sounding like a siamese drug dealer?
Posted by: little sister | 2005.10.17 at 07:30 PM
Pepper - Welcome! Woo? What's the story behind that name??
Misty - Shame with that! Maybe you could shorten it to RR - as in ::growl::
Mickey - Definitely a gumshoe name.
Missy - I guess you didn't move around much as a kid, either. Shame (for this purpose, anyway).
Cat - sistah! Are you going to go short on this one too and go by "Muff"? lol
Miss Contrary - It's hard to smile properly when one's mouth is full, and if you're not going to swallow, I suppose you have few options.
Madison - MM for short. lol
Braintree - I'm guessing it's in Columbia, Maryland. They have all kinds of weird street names there.
Sandy - Gotta agree with you there.
Cat - You starred in a movie called "Her Hot Oven." Don't you remember?
Chi Chi - That's awfully close to Cha Cha, the chick from multiple "Fantasy Island" and "Love Boat" episodes. Coochie coochie!
Snowball - Are you complaining?? You get a whole state!
Cricket - She did. Thanks!
Claudette / Thai Ling - Horton doesn't work for me. Mister mrtl will understand why. Thai Ling sounds exotic!

I'm late, but here it is:
Muffin Dover
!!!
Posted by: suburban misfit | 2005.10.18 at 12:00 PM
Thanks for the welcome! :)
I'm told that the cat was named "Woo" because instead of meowing, it said, "Woo!"
Posted by: pea | 2005.10.18 at 12:30 PM
Mine would be Sammy Maxwell.
Not too bad... for a guy!
I LOVE The Wire! I heard they were filming not too far from my house recently. I was actually going to cancel my HBO if they didn't renew that, because it's about the only thing left on HBO that I would regularly watch.
Posted by: catherine | 2005.10.18 at 09:05 PM
misfit - You had a muffin, too, huh?
pea - I'm so glad you shared that. I was thinking it was a dog (woo, not woof). Go figure!
catherine - Hello? Deadwood?? You're totally missing out!!
Posted by: mrtl | 2005.10.19 at 12:25 AM
