I'm feeling a little bummed that I'm not going the Mario route for Halloween; I'm too tired and busy these days to pull it off. Instead I'm going to be a boring old witch, and Bug is going to be a black cat (totally her choice -- I was hoping she'd go with a lion because she does a really cute roar).
Speaking of tired, WTF was up with her when she woke up at 4 this morning?? I got her a sippy cup of milk and a breakfast bar and took her back to bed, turning on the tv so she could watch Noggin (which conveniently for our time zone starts around then). Next thing you know, I stir and find her conked out next to me, her head on my shoulder. When mister mrtl got home from his mids shift, he found her horizontal next to his pillow, so for the first time ever in our marriage, he had to crap out on the couch instead of in his bed.
It wouldn't have been so bad for her to wake up so damned early if I didn't go to bed at 1, after spending hours doing some updates here and watching stupid shows. On a good note, I got a lot of updates done here (hello, title archive, motif monday links, and turning off comments so those stupid spammers will stop hitting the old posts and begone already).
Can you tell I need more sleep? At some point I'll give up on this; I've lost my train of thought about seven times now. I can't remember how I was planning on segueing into the picture. I found it the other night, and scanned it during my Fit of Productivity. It was part of my Halloween costume last year. It was going to be an offering since I won't be posting ridiculous pictures of me in the car getup I had planned. Those are the facts; you can tie them together in a pretty little bow as you please.
Last year I was the imprisoned Martha. I wore tan scrubs, plain white shoes, a blonde wig, and carried around some silver-spraypainted cardboard bars. The following is the ID card I made. Maybe someday I'll dig out my archive disks and post a better image. Maybe I'll even post mister mrtl wearing the wig, which is really a hoot. (This cannot be recreated, as the wig has been donated to a transvestite I know and love and is no longer in my possession.)
Seacrest out.

Ahhhh. Noggin. Max needs to enter a 12 step program to get him off of the Noggin.

Hmmmm...haven't seen Noggin yet. Learn something new every day.

You know and love a transvestite? Really? I'm fascinated.
I must need more sleep too - all week I've been under the impression that next week's motif is first date, not worst date. (What? They RHYME.) It's a'ight - in my case they are one and the same.

Wait. The wig is no longer in your possession, or the transvestite is no longer in your possession?
Yeah, I need some sleep, too.

William - I know exactly what you're saying. I'm glad they don't play a lot of commercials. (More than you can say for Disney.)
Mainline Mom - It's an 8a-6p romp for the toddler set (Blues Clues, Miffy, Maisy, Franklin, Dora, Connie the Cow... the list goes on). It's addictive, as William mentioned above.
Kalki - Check your email. It's not something I can blog about.
Either way, I'm sure the story would be good. (I can't even remember my first date.)
LadyBug - Indeed. The wig. I gave it to the transvestite. He liked it better than the platinum blonde, uneven cut one I gave him for Christmas several years ago (which, despite being a higher-priced wig, was very itchy -- my Martha wig was only $10, but I think he's still using it).

I love dressing up for Halloween, but amd so incredibly lazy that I never have the energy to really make a cool costume from scratch. This year I think I've decided on Catholic school girl...yawn. But cute. And my hub can be a priest, which is one of the few costumes he will actually agree to wear, that stick-in-the-mud.

the transvestite is no longer in your possession?! did you loose him? (i see that ladybug already beat me to this particular "joke"...alas, i thought i was gonna be all funny and clever. ladybug's cleverer. is that a word? it is now.)

The quest for the 'perfect' Halloween costume can be gruelling. When one's pregnant, it can be downright daunting. A pregnant witch isn't boring, it's ironic. And I think Bug will be the sweetest black cat in the territory.
Hope you got some rest today.

Karla - Come visit tomorrow. Mister mrtl sent me a cartoon I'll be sharing.
Raz - No worries! You're in good company with that humor. (Also that I'm no longer a teacher and could give a panda poop about your spelling.)
eclectic - I call the witch thing "easy." I still have my black graduation gown from college, and bought the hat years ago. I bought some "accessories": striped thigh-high stockings, a long black wig and some tooth-out.
There were no cute premade cat costumes for Bug. I still can't believe how hard it was to find a simple black sweatsuit for her. I'll share pics. You'll see.
