Turns out my due date is more likely February 11, 2006 (instead of the 24th) because I forgot that the 40-week count doesn't begin at conception. As far as the coolness factor here goes, February 11, 2003 was the day we learned that I was pregnant with Bug. It's also makes the chance of having Frid on Valentine's Day or Grandma S's birthday (the 19th) better. Yee haw!
::tangent::
Just for a moment, let me digress about this "we" crap, as in "We're pregnant." Mister mrtl is not pregnant. I don't think he wants to be either, so it would not be very nice of me to force that label on him. (Confirmed. He doesn't want to be pregnant. I asked.) It's bad enough having to be the husband of the pregnant woman, what with having to deal with the mood swings and the self-deprecating remarks (e.g., "I'm so fat!" "I have nothing to wear!")::tangent within a tangent::
And while we're here, let me digress a little about the mood swings. Do you remember the Tuesday doll? Able to switch personas at the rotation of a scalp?By day she's a professional brunette.

By night she's a skanky blonde ho.

(Complete with holes in her boobies, courtesy of my brother.) This is what we're talking about here.
::end tangent within a tangent::Now I know that plenty of people out there think there's absolutely nothing wrong with the "we" thing, and I'm not going to begrudge you that. We'll have to agree to disagree. Living with someone who is pregnant is not the same as being pregnant. Maybe "We're expecting" would be more appropriate. Whatever.
::end tangent::
With Frid being due February 11, it puts him (please forgive the use of "he" as a generic pronoun - I'm annoying myself way too much with the "he/she" crap) more solidly in the Aquarius time zone. (Nothing against Pisces, really, it's just that I'm a Libra and my brother is a Pisces and we didn't get on extremely well as kids and if not having that combination helps the least little bit with Bug and Frid growing up closer than close then it's some little something that I don't have to agonize over.)
On a completely different subject, I saw my first moose today! We had to go to the zoo to see it, but it was still a moose.

So . . . you're trying to tell us you bleached your hair and got your nipples pierced? OK, hon. Whatever helps . . .
(Psst, KALKI! It's cool in Alaska! Go up there and see about her!)

I'm so glad you finally saw a moose!
When you find out Frid's sex are you going to share it with us?
Posted by: Bente | 2005.07.04 at 12:04 AM
Susie - You are so intuned to what I'm saying. Brava!
Bente - Not a "real" moose, though, a zoo moose. He was just lying there.
Yes, I will definitely blog about Frid's sex. It would be too hard to try to hide that, and I don't see a point in trying.

A moose is a moose is a moose. There's a wildlife park in Nova Scotia that has a moose. I've probably been there half a dozen times and have never seen that moose because he is hiding every time.
Ahh, excellent about the telling us of Frid's sex. I was hoping you would say that, but I didn't want to seem pushy.
Posted by: Bente | 2005.07.04 at 08:01 AM
Bente - I don't know. Zoo animals aren't always the same.
Questions aren't pushy at all!

Susie, I just bought my one-way ticket.
Weird, mrtl - I was just thinking about the whole "We're pregnant" thing yesterday and came to the same conclusion. (No, I am NOT pregnant.)
And you saw a moose?! Super-cool.
My blog is currently down (pissed off God again) but I'll post something pissy whenever it comes back up...

My best friend's birthday is February 11th!
It's a great day!

Congrats on you being pregnant, and mr. mrtl having to have his head spin. :-) For all the women go through being preggers, the daddys have to go through 199 different moods an hour. Although, I'd rather deal with the moods then the first trimester.

Kalki - If you're not pregnant, you must have one strong case of Baby Fever.
Torrie - Very good to know. Much better than hearing "this bitch I went to school with was born that day." Thanks!
lawbrat - Thanks. I feel for mister mrtl, too. But at least my current grumpiness is more self-directed instead of me getting nasty with him.

Fridwatch. I love that. It'd be even sweeter if one of this year's hurricanes was named Frid. "Get the Frid out of Frid's way!"
You're talking about me aren't you? Why can't I be happy for all of you being pregnant? Mrtl's pregnant, Mr. Mrtl's pregnant, Bish is pregnant, Bug is...
Oh, I see.
Mrtl, just wanted to let you know that I don't think you're a skanky blonde ho, that is unless you want me to. Maybe it's the stripper heels and wig in the closet or the constant "Rap, Bam, Rap!" of the headboard at night, but no, you don't come across to me that way.
Go Aquarius! Along with most of the men in my life: Rancito, my dad, and my FIL. Quiet, reserved, helpful type.
Moose! I love moose! Oh, maybe I was thinking mousse.

yonzie - That would be pretty cool.
Are you one of them? That's ok. I just don't agree with you. And please don't misunderstand. We're all expecting Frid, but I'm the one who is pregnant and is going to give birth.
Egads! I'm going to give birth.
Then you just get weird, so I'm going to leave you be. XOXOX

Sometimes I slip up with the "you're [all] pregnant," but I really try not to. Been there, done that. I give no credit to Rancito for being pregnant. Men can't even begin to comprehend what we go through. Being told "you're [all] pregnant" irked me, too.
Me weird? No way! My new post gives an indication of why I was so loopy on Tuesday. XOXOXO right back at ya.

Me pregnant?
Gotta have sex first, sister. (Unfortunate side effect of weight meds and lack of sleep)

yonzie - :( !
