Props to the intel officer in the house for pointing this out to me.

Oh my goodness. I found your blog this afternoon when you'd posted the earlier item and found it amusing. Now though, you have made my evening. (I even know about Bolton but would I ever have connected "Lisa" with Bolton? Or how about Patty or Maria, my senators? I don't know.)
Oh and I spent an hour or so reading Bug's blog/yours intermittently and had to come online to show my partner Bug as an infant howling in the clown wig, but we also love her in the footie pajamas. And just about any time.
See, the Lisa thing is because Sen Murkowski has to differentiate herself from dad, who happens to be the governor! All her bumper stickers and promo material just says "Lisa." It's quite obvious to a politically asute observer, lol.
You have to admire mrtl for having the good nature to leave her original post up for ridicule :-)
Daphne - Welcome! And while it's shameful that I didn't know at least who Bolton is, I'm taking it easy on myself since I haven't read the paper or watched the news in weeks now, what with the move and the current lack of childcare. Besides, I'm perfectly willing to laugh at myself at how utterly ridiculous my interpretation of the sign was.
I'm glad you've enjoyed Bug's blog, too. ::onset of guilt for not updating that recently::
ieatcrayonz - Don't confuse me more, please. Don't think you're entitled since you practically own this blog.
TA-S - My asutedness sees your misspelling.
Bente - Mister mrtl started the convo by telling me there were signs like that all over town. And I was all thinking, "Whoa! There's a huge campaign to get these two apart." Then he started questioning my ignorance on the subject. And I was all thinking, "Dude! We've been together over eleven years. When did I become the political goddess you're expecting of me now? And do you really expect me to be all up on local politics when we've only been here a couple weeks?" (Yes, I know that doesn't cover Bolton, but give me a break!) If I did hear of Bolton before, I probably forgot. My memory sucks.
I apologize for quoting a cuntry song on my blog. I honestly should've known better. I now relinquish all mayoral control of mrtland back to Miss Mrtl.
Misfit - I was feeling sorry for some poor local boy who was the bearer of such an unfortunate name, because surely he was named after said celebrity back when love was a beautiful thang. I suppose that makes us equally pathetic.
ieatcrayonz - Funny link! Thanks for the clarification. I was suspicious that you were sneaking yet another political reference on my ass, but didn't want to show yet more ignorance by responding to it. hahahahahaha
LadyBug - And I'm sure Governor Merkowski (or however the fuck it's spelled, I really couldn't care less at this point) isn't too keen on his daughters love life made so public in his state.
Merry Widow - It is of that accomplishment that I am proud, but I can't take full credit. Guy #3 provided grand assistance. With your further clarification on the subject, I now know the magic word to make you materialize. I shall use that power wisely.
That is TOO hilarious! I never would have gotten that reference, either. I think it is funny that those signs were up all over the town. I mean, if I were you and had seen that on an overpass, I would have totally thought it was referring to a chick and her boyfriend. Once the real story comes to light, it is absolutely hilarious! Props to you for bringing your mistake to light. :-)
By the way, I posted a link to your Dooce poll on my blog and there are some new signatures! Let's hope it gets to 1,000!

D'oh!
I hate it when that happens.

I thought at first that it was going to be some celebrity named Lisa and Michael Bolton.
Silly me!

Oh, how funny.
Of course, now Bolton's Mom has some 'splainin' to do.

MRTL!!! You brought me out of hiding!!! Just thought you should know. :-)

Katie - I think mister mrtl expected me to delete the post and hide in my shame... hahahahaha!
(I made up the goal of 1,000. It doesn't seem too lofty, does it?)
