First of all, you are nuts and if I adored you any more my heart would burst.

Second, ohmygod LOOK AT US! I mean, do you SEE the way he is looking at me? (Is it possible to have an orgasm just by looking at a picture? Never mind, pretend I didn't say that.)

After the crazy-shit week you've had, I don't know how it is you can still be so damn super. Thanks, mrtl. :)

Ern

What a good friend you are.

Susie

OK.

little sister

She's a cutie, and he obviously has eyes for her ;-)...I'l go to her blog and comment with his name all over the place...

Bente

This has nothing to do with this post, but my goodness Bug is cute! She's also sounds very advanced. She is only a couple months older then Elli and she seems to have a much larger vocabualry. Elli also has a friend that is only one month younger then Bug and she doesn't come close either. Do you have a secret, or is Bug a geius in the making?

Bente

oops...genius...I think I'm starting to see the problem.

Bente

Just so no one gets the wrong idea..Elli is still smart, she just doesn't have the vocabulary Bug does. I felt the need to clear this up, even though, most likely, nobody cares :)

Bente - It's only been in the last month or so that Bug's vocabulary has exploded. It's been fascinating to behold. From what I've read, though, comparison at this age isn't an accurate assessment. (True to life - my mother told me that beyond some choice words, I didn't talk until I was 2. There was no baby talk; I spoke clearly and in complete sentences.

As for particular things we've done... Mary and we work with her, playing with colored chips, books (shapes, colors, etc.), and alphabet and number puzzles. We also provide a near-constant commentary of goings on. (Yes, we don't shut up.) We started with the sign language when she was 3 months (she didn't start signing till 7 months, though), finding it extremely useful in avoiding mutual frustration. (Mary started watching Bug when she was 9 months and used the sign language with her as well.)

Some things we can't explain. She'll do or say something, and I'll commend Mary for the progress, only to have her tell me it's not something they've worked on. Genius? Maybe, but I'm leaning more towards PBS and Noggin.

Happy Mother's Day, mrtl!!
