Going to Alaska

In May, we will be PCSing to Alaska. From Texas. Fortunately it's at a time of year that shouldn't be too cold, since cold-weather gear isn't all the rage in Texas.

I'm working on finding answers to my more important questions, like where to find good pie. I still haven't found good pie in Texas, and I'm still pissed off about that. Why do I have to buy a whole pie if I want pie? I don't want to eat a whole pie, dammit. (Well, when I was pregnant I did, and I think I ate two... it's all a little fuzzy now.) Just give me a slice. And if I could get it served in a lake of warm custard like they do in England, please. And while we're talking about England, how about some fish and chips?

Damitol, could we just go to England for the pie with the custard and the fish and chips? It could be a short visit. We just need to remember to pick up a big bag of Nestle Smarties on the way out, since we only have the Smarties-that-fizz-when-eaten-with-soda variety here, which are nowhere as good as the Nestle Smarties. (What's up with that anyway? Copyright issue? Just rename the Nestle Smarties Nestle Better Smarties and bring them on already!) And maybe we should pick up some treacle tart, also with warm custard. And could we play the drinking game where we drink whenever someone says "brilliant!"?

I do have some Bird's custard in the kitchen. Maybe I'll make all of it and take a bath in it. mmmmmmm.... warm custard bath.....
